The Magick Candle

Jan is co-owner of The Magick Candle and a guiding force in our community. She has been part of this circle for over 36 years, teaching, writing, and sharing her wisdom through many of our classes. A healer, teacher, and minister, Jan’s work extends far beyond the shop — she is deeply involved in community service through organizations such as Coburn Place, Dove House, Gaia Works, and our very own in-shop Food Pantry. Her passion for service and spiritual growth shines through everything she does, making her both a pillar of The Magick Candle and the wider community.

Michelle Roberts is a bone diviner, sound bowl healer, and co-owner of The Magick Candle. Guided by ancestral wisdom and the healing power of vibration, she offers bone readings as sacred conversations with the unseen—bringing clarity, empowerment, and healing. As a sound bowl practitioner, Michelle creates immersive experiences that restore balance and harmony to body, mind, and spirit. She has developed courses in both bone divination and sound healing, sharing these transformative practices with others. Through The Magick Candle, she co-creates a space where seekers can find tools, community, and connection.

Deb has been part of The Magick Candle family for over 13 years, teaching for the last eight. She brings a wealth of knowledge to her classes, from Magick 101 and Year of the Herb to Chakra, Feng Shui, and Meditation.

A Reiki Master and herbalist, Deb’s energy work radiates love, kindness, and strength. Beyond the shop, she serves as secretary of Gaia Works Inc. and is a Certified Adult Educator with nearly three decades of experience teaching in the healthcare field.

Her passion for education and healing makes her classes both practical and deeply heart-centered.

Reverend Rita Harmon comes from a Native American Shamanism background and majored in philosophy and theology in college. Rita is a registered nurse that specialized in critical care and then psychiatric nursing. She has studied with Dianic, Shamanistic, and spiritual practioners. Rita has been teaching at The Magic Candle for 10 years and teaches 2 year long Mystery Schools, Alchemy, History and Symbols classes.

For the last 50 + years, Tim has pursued the truth of what happens after the change we call death and how to communicate with spirit. With the support of his guide, Mallon, Tim has explored many facets of metaphysics and strives to share them with others. "My greatest hope is to help others see the power they hold, and their abilities are there for the asking."  (Tim is pictured following a paranormal investigation deep in the bowels of The Lincoln tomb holding a fragment of the sarcophagus stone he was buried in.)

Ruth has been part of The Magick Candle family since 2013. With over 45 years of experience as a Registered Respiratory Therapist, she has cared for countless people in hospitals and healthcare settings. Though now retired, Ruth often says “once a healthcare worker, always a healthcare worker,” and continues to share her knowledge with others as an AHA BLS instructor of 38 years. At The Magick Candle, Ruth channels her love of healing and teaching into the herbal path. She leads our Year of Herbs and Magical Herbs classes, helping students connect with the wisdom, spirit, and everyday magic of plants.

A best-selling author, teacher and speaker, Dan has been cited in articles in the New York Times, The Boston Globe, The Sacramento Bee, The Des Moines Register and many others through syndication. Angie's List Magazine ran a 2 page spread on him. He has appeared on various radio and TV shows throughout the country, including the Denny Smith show on WIBC and Channel 6 evening news with a segment on 11/11/11. He was the host of Numerology Plus, an hour show in Phoenix, AZ and Providence, RI.

Crystal has been affiliated with The Magick Candle/ Gaia Works for over twenty years. Having taken, developed, and taught multiple classes in that time, she focuses on teaching the 13-week course The Goddess Class. She's an automatic artist, available for scheduled private readings and events. In her muggle life, she's a Certified Dementia Practitioner and Certified Activity Director with a passion for the elderly.

Teacher of Witchcraft 101. Dedicates his time assisting students seeking knowledge of the craft and serving the community through Gaia Works. Over the past 30 years he has studied the basics of many religions to connect the threads between them all. Eclectic but mostly works within the Norse Pantheon. Preferred forms of divination include Runes and Aura Photography.

Ashley Seigel has been with The Magick Candle since 2021. She is currently teaching History and will be teaching Sacred Geometry with Dorian Anderson. She is currently enrolled in the Hands-on Healing to certificate in Reiki. She is knowledgeable in Spirit Guides, Palmistry, Alchemy, Sacred Geometry, Meditation, Auras, Chakras and Numerology.

Hanna began her journey with The Magick Candle’s Cauldron School of Metaphysics in 2019, joining the teaching circle the next year. Drawn early on to the wisdom of herbs, trees, and plants, she explores the deep connections we share with the natural world.

Hanna now teaches our Year of Herbs class, blending magickal tradition with practical knowledge to help students build meaningful relationships with plants. Her approach balances wonder and groundedness, inviting others to discover the everyday magick rooted in nature.

Kristen is the understudy for both Sorcerer’s Apprentice classes, helping our young witches and wildlings explore magick with joy, curiosity, and just a touch of chaos. She's a practicing witch, folklore fangirl, and part-time shop goblin who can usually be found restocking  our shelves, sniffing Testify, or yapping with anyone who lingers too long.

Chadwick lives in Indianapolis, Indiana with his husband, George, and their two Italian greyhounds, Tino and Tella. When Chadwick isn't writing or teaching, he loves  the outdoors  and spending quality time with his family and friends on both sides of life. 

Amber is a lifelong pagan, homeschool parent, and hypnosis professional with nearly a decade of teaching and over seven years of clinical practice. Currently completing her Master’s in psychology, she runs a healing-focused hypnosis practice centered on transformation and inner integration. Rooted in both magical and psychological training, her work blends trance, internal ritual, and Norse-inspired frameworks to guide others in reclaiming Sedir as a living art. Amber’s goal is to preserve this tradition while passing it forward to future generations and to all seekers of inner knowing, sacred structure, and practical magic.
